This week on New Girl featured the battle of Schmidt vs. Cece while Jess was at jury duty for the day and refused to miss it to play mediator. Jury duty is a right and a privilege, according to Jess, and she will not miss the opportunity.

Nick needed Jess now more than ever because he couldn't stand Cece being at the apartment all the time due to the fact that she leaves her things everywhere, which is inexcusable in his eyes no matter what size her breasts are. It also bothers him that she never signed the roommate agreement and isn't even really a roommate.

Nick was't the only one who needed Jess to stay home from jury duty, Cece needed her as well because she couldn't stand being around Nick due to how obnoxious he is and that he tells the same stories everyday.

Winston and Schmidt also need Jess because they're disagreeing on hanging up a portrait of dogs playing poker. Winston finds it funny, and Nick and Schmidt find it distasteful.

Jess can't get a moment of peace at jury duty because Nick keeps calling complaining about Cece's laundry den and Winston calls her because he put a hole in the wall hanging up his poker picture. Jess' boss is also calling her, telling her he broke his foot and needs her to be acting principal for the day...which means Jess needs to get out of jury duty and go against everything she once stood for.

Nick can't wait for Jess to resolve the issue and calls Cece a hot slob, and she calls him Nicole because he's acting like a little girl. Their feud brought up everything from Cece leaving food everywhere to Nick just not being funny, when in reality it had nothing to do with any of that. The two were jealous of one another because of how much Schmidt loves the other one, Cece is his fiancé, and Nick is pretty much his brother, and they were equally jealous of how much time one another spends with him.

Through all the bickering, the wall collapsed and Winston taped it back together, just like how Cece and Nick taped their friendship back together.

Jess couldn't get out of jury duty and finds that her case is actually going to continue for an entire month, forcing her out of the apartment and into a hotel. Luckily she leaves a complimentary bowl of advice for her roommates so a day like this never happens to them while she's away.
