After news of the passing of actor Pat Harrington Jr. broke yesterday his former co-stars paid tribute to and remembered the man who brought laughter to so many.
The Wrap noted that Valerie Bertinelli was among those to pay tribute to Harrington, who she worked alongside on One Day at a Time.
The actress posted a picture of her with Harrington to her Instagram account with the caption, "He always made me laugh."
Glenn Scarpelli, also a castmate of Harrington’s on the sitcom, talked about the loss of his friend in a lengthy social media post.
"I will love him FOREVER. He helped shape the man I have become,” Scarpelli wrote. “I live in gratitude that he was in my life. I feel privileged to have called him my friend. He brought so much joy and laughter to our planet. Pat died on Bonnie's birthday... it is my belief that it's a sign that she was one of his greeters on the other side."
And show producer Norman Lear pointed out that Harrington passed on the same day as castmate Bonnie Franklin’s birthday.
As we reported, Harrington, who played superintendent Dwayne Schneider on One Day at a Time, passed away Wednesday evening in Los Angeles. He was 86 years old.
