A dime that was only worth 10 cents when it was struck in 1894 sold for nearly $2 million at an auction on Thursday.

The 1894-S Barber dime, made at the San Francisco mint, sold for $1,997,500 at an auction in Tampa, notes CNN.

Although 2.5 million of the dimes were made, the financial crisis in 1893 (known as the Panic of 1893) lead to a drop in demand for coins. So most of them were destroyed and only 19 made it into circulation, according to Heritage Auctions. Just 10 of those are known to exist.

According to The Associated Press, the winning bidder wished to remain anonymous. It was previously owned by anonymous collector.

Heritage Auctions told the AP that it is offering $10,000 to anyone who finds the remaining 1894-S dimes that are out there. They are considered one of the Holy Grails of American coins, so if you find one and auction it off, you could earn much more than that.
