Stranger things have happened right? WRONG! The Gallagher clan just keeps the chaos coming more and more with each season. Season six of Shameless has set the bar higher then ever so far. Emotions ran high with each of the siblings' new highs and lows. So let's take a closer look at which Gallagher came out on top this week and where each one is at.
Let's start with the good. The second-youngest of the Gallaghers, Carl (now known as "White Carl"), was released from juvie and is a completely new person. The heroine smuggling minor was shockingly released on good behavior and took a cab back to his home to surprise his family. His voice got deeper, he rocks corn rows like no scrawny white boy in the ghetto has before, he's wiser, funnier then ever, and he's even possibly a man now.
It was a done in a very Gallagher fashion to throw the delinquent a "Welcome home from juvie" party to which he introduced his new much larger, scarier, older, black friend from jail to the family as his new room mate.
Our hearts broke for Lip when he had reason to believe the teacher he's been sleeping with was doing the same with other students. He even took things just a step too far to show up at her house and get into a fist fight with the young man leaving her house...who just so happened to be her son. It's safe to say things may officially be over between the two when she walked in on him with one of her former female students in his bed.
The heartache continued when we saw Ian visit Mickey in jail with Svetlana and the baby, he was arrested in Season 5 for attempted murder. To prove his love Mickey, showed Ian his new tattoo "Ian Galagher" over his heart (too bad "Gallagher" has two "L's" Mickey), and begged Ian to wait for him when he gets out of jail. Ian not-so-whole-heartedly and convincingly said that he would. (I know I can't be the only one who thinks Mickey and Ian are the best couple on the show).
Debbie continued to be hands down the most naive and overall clueless Gallagher. The 15 year-old is expecting a baby with Derek and she is keeping her baby regardless of how Fiona feels, and that's why she lies and tells her that there is no baby. The news fills Debbie's heart with joy and she believes the baby will bring marriage into her near future.
So, excited with the baby news, Debbie tells Derek. His parents later force him to move to Florida to keep the two apart because his mother wants nothing to do with that baby, but she makes it a point to tell Fiona the truth.
Fiona's relationship with her boss continues to be extremely strange. (where are you Jimmy Steve? We miss you.) However, drama rises at the diner when he offers her the position for assistant manager because the current one was arrested in front of the store. Other employees are annoyed because they're more qualified for the position but she's offered the job because she's sleeping with the boss.
The Gallagher that shocked us the most though was father Frank. In Season 5, Bianco who is now deceased brought out the best of him and a side of Frank viewers and his own family weren't familiar with. Upon her death, Frank returned to the South Side of Chicago and spent a lot of time lying on her grave, masturbating, and turning to God for answers. He not only turned to God but to Shiva, Allah, Ahura Mazda, and many more. This change of heart is bringing him around his children more and making an attempt to be a bigger part of their lives.
