Stacey Dash has responded to the backlash from her Fox & Friends comments in a blog post this past weekend, reacting to the social media frenzy that ensued after she talked about the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

Dash took a lot of heat for saying if the African American community wants to be considered for Oscars, they shouldn’t exclude themselves with channels like BET and events like Black History Month.

“It seems every other black person in America has disowned me,” Dash wrote in the Patheos blog.

She added, “I feel like it’s hypocritical to say that we’re all the same, but then to self-segregate into little enclaves of society," calling the #OscarsSoWhite outcry “lame” because “black people should not demand that every segment of society who watches movies be reflected in the number of Oscars given to actors and actresses.”

Dash went on to write that the three institutions the black community wants to be more represented in – Universities, Hollywood and urban cities – are run by liberals who “perpetuate THE most hypocritical bigotry I’ve ever seen.”

Her belief is that African Americans “reinforce stereotypes with more passion and vigor than the KKK” and she urged, “Let’s stop taking our marching orders from Democratic slave drivers.”

Dash ended the blog post with, “With every special black interest group, we’re falling right into the plantation mentality they want us to have."
