A sequel to the 2013 horror film Mama is on the way and the upcoming movie has just landed its directors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, the writing and directing duo behind Starry Eyes, have boarded Mama 2 at Universal. They will direct the sequel and rewrite the current draft of the screenplay.

This news comes as a surprise, as it has been three years since Mama hit theaters and the original director said he didn't think there should be a sequel, according to Screen Crush. Universal's admittedly late decision makes sense, though, as the first installment was a surprise hit at the box office, grossing $146 million worldwide on a $15 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo.

Don't expect to see Jessica Chastain's character again, though, as The Wrap is reporting that the actress will not return in Mama 2. She starred in the original opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. No word yet on if he will reprise his role.

Mama told the story of two orphans abandoned in the woods for five years and raised by a sinister force, which continues to follow them even after they are rescued by a new, loving family. It was directed by Andres Muschetti and produced by Guillermo del Toro.
