The Tampa Bay Rays acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson in a trade with the Colorado Rockies on Thursday.

According to Fox Sports, the Rockies will get reliever Jake McGee from the Rays in exchange for Dickerson. Both teams are also swapping two minor league pitchers.

The trade is no surprise, since it seemed likely that Dickerson was going to be traded after the Rockies signed free-agent outfielder Gerardo Parra.

Dickerson has been with the Rockies for his entire major league career. Last year, he was on the disabled list three times (twice for plantar fasciitis in his left foot and once for a broken rib) and played in just 65 games due to injuries. He hit .304 with ten homeruns and 31 RBIs last year, according to ESPN. Dickerson has hit .299 with 39 homeruns and 124 RBIS in his three-year major league career.

McGee was 1-2 with a 2.41 ERA and had six saves last year with the Rays. He has a 2.77 ERA and 26 saves in his six-year major league career.

The Rays will save more than $4 million with the trade if they don’t send the Rockies cash to help cover McGee’s $4.8 million salary. They will have control of Dickerson for awhile since he isn’t eligible for arbitration until after this season.
