It turns out that DC Comics characters can’t be on every network. The Teen Titans series that was in development at TNT is not going forward.

TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly confirmed the news during the Television Critics Association winter press tour Thursday, reports TVLine. “We just decided it wasn’t quite where we wanted to go,” he said.

News of the project first surfaced in September 2014 and the pilot was supposed to be filmed in 2015. Titled simply Titans, it was rumored that the pilot included the characters Nightwing, Barbara Gordon, Hawk and Dove, Raven and Starfire.

The pilot, which was written by Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes, was apparently never filmed. Perhaps it’s for the best though, since Goldsman is the writer behind the infamous Batman & Robin.

While the live-action Titans never materialized, the group has done much better in the animation world. Teen Titans Go! recently finished its third season and another series called Teen Titans ran from 2003 to 2006.
