Last night's episode of Teen Wolf,  "Damnatio Memoria," was all about forgiveness. Scott attempts to reconcile his reluctant pack. After the mid-season premiere, most of the pack set aside their differences in order to save Sheriff Stalinski. Now that he is stable, the pack’s feelings are still wildly up in the air and no one is talking to each other.

The episode begins with Hayden’s big sis investigating a possible break in at the communication towers. She comes face to face with a monstrous beast that she barely escapes. Outside, Liam is confronting Hayden. He’s thankful that she’s alive, yet she’s bitter that he didn’t save her. While trying to outrun the beast this time, Liam does save Hayden. However, she’s still guarded and confused about herself and what to feel, so she leaves Liam to heal alone in the woods.

Next, we find Stiles at the hospital watching over his father and we view another wise Sheriff Stilinski lesson about forgiveness and the truth finally comes out about Donavan. Stiles confesses he feels like he’s lost something and worries he’ll never get it back, which his father reluctantly informs him he never will. This moment totally parallels Derek and how his eyes changed to bright blue because he lost his innocence after killing an innocent, whether on purpose or not. So, it turns out that Stiles and Derek had more in common then Stiles thought.

It seems as though Liam cannot stop obsessing about Hayden, because we see him following her to the club. However instead of finding Hayden he finds Theo recharging one of his chimeras. Liam is so obsessed with reconciling with Hayden that he doesn’t even realize he’s figuring out Theo’s plan and is too afraid to confront Scott because of their big fight.

Later while still in the hospital Stiles and Sheriff Stilinski are still at it working the newest case of this strange beast like animal that killed a worker at the communication towers. After the forgiveness talk Stiles knows he has to make amends with Scott because as much as we like the new due of Liam and Mason, Scott and Stiles will always be the best crime solving best friends in Beacon Hills.

Meanwhile Scott is without his pack, not healing, and trying to solve the mysteries of the chimeras by himself. He even attempts making a board similar to Stiles but struggles humorously. Scott fails to recruit Malia who is too focused on finding her mom and too guarded to rejoin the pack at this time. So it would seem as though Theo has succeeded in destroying Scott’s pack, which brings a tear to any Teen Wolf fan.

Stiles shows up just in time and in boy like fashion they pardon each other for their grievances and immediately investigate the communication towers. Our hearts break when we see that Scott can’t lift a locker with his supernatural werewolf strength so Stiles helps and this symbolically proves that the pair are stronger together then apart.

While this is going on, we finally get a glimpse of Lydia in Eichen house. It seems as if she’s effortlessly learning more powers that come with being a banshee. She finds herself watching Meredith’s subconscious resurrection and though we may assume she’s back for revenge she actually offers her help to teach Lydia how to hone her abilities and fight with her scream. Maybe a hint as to how she was fighting in the opening scene of the first episode of the season?

Back at the communication towers just when Scott and Stiles believe they’ve found a clue, Theo’s pack interferes. Throughout the episode we discover Theo’s motives as to why he brought back the failed chimeras: for debt. He leverages the fact that he saved these kids lives and makes them work for him, which leads to fighting Scott.

Although Scott is weak, he is still the Alpha that defeated an Alpha pack and effortlessly drops Theo’s pack, which inevitably makes Theo literally pop out of the woodwork. Theo then explains to Scott that they are back on the same side and warns them of what is to come from this new beast. Can Theo really be trusted though? He seems to be switching back and forth quite a bit.

Once Liam and Mason put all of their clues together, they figure out why and how Theo is using Hayden and the other chimera’s. Mason is able to talk some sense into Liam, and just when you think Beta and Alpha are going to be reunited Hayden appears and confesses her feelings to Liam ending with a passionate kiss.

So what is this beast then? Leave it to Mr. Argent to come back and swiftly save the day and find the answers. Though he had to revive Gerard we do learn that this beast is nothing new, but something old that is related to the Argents! Could it be Kate, AGAIN? Maybe Alison will come back evil because of some curse that was placed on the Argent family. Only time will tell.

Ending this episode Scott and Stiles hash out what is to come and Scott sets his plans in motion to get the pack back together and in the most precious way tags his pack’s symbol in the sand with Stiles, because they were the first reconciliation. Scott announces Kira is next, which reintroduces Kira who’s with her mother fighting skinwalkers! That leaves us to wonder who they are, why Kira is there, and has she defeated the homicidal fox that lives within her?

This episode was exactly what Teen Wolf fans needed to be reassured that the pack is not forever broken and there’s still hope for good. Seeing Stiles and Scott reunite and Hayden and Liam reconcile their feelings for each other is just the beginning of the pack reforming and finally defeating the dread doctors once and for all.
