Nickelodean is officially bringing back another one one of its classic animated shows.

According to Movie Pilot, As Told by Ginger is receiving a revival to air in 2017. The new series will be a direct continuation of the original, now following Ginger and the gang in high school.

This reboot will be primarily aimed towards Nick's current audience, and as such, familiarity with the original cartoon is not required. There will also be some appropriate updates to keep the show relevant for today's kids and that will include visual updates: according to the report, Nickelodeon is redesigning the looks of the characters a bit. Original creator Emily Kapnek is on board to return.

This is not the first classic Nick show to be brought back for modern times, as we recently received news of a Hey Arnold revival. The network is taking a similar approach with that by having the reboot serve as a sequel to the original series, but while also making sure newcomers can watch it.

“Kids who grew up on these characters are now of the age that they are having kids and families themselves,” said Nickelodeon Group President Russell Hicks. “Our library has come to fruition and it’s time for it to start coming back to life.”

Along with Hey Arnold and As Told by Ginger, recent reports have suggested that a whole bunch of Nick reboots will be on the way.
