Tracy Morgan will soon be making his way back to television. Morgan will be starring in an upcoming pilot for FX and he broke the news of his return to TV on his Twitter account.

This will mark Morgan's first role back since he suffered extreme injuries during a car accident in 2014.

This upcoming show will be a comedy that is being written by Jordan Peele (Key & Peele) and John Carcieri (Eastbound & Down).

Production on this new show will start this summer. The TV pilot will focus on a career criminal who is being released from prison after spending 15 years behind bars, reports The New York Times. When he returns to the lie outside of prison, it is a very different world.

Morgan has worked with FX before. He starred in a 2013 pilot called Death Pact, but in the end the show wasn't picked up. FX also said after his car accident that a project would be "waiting for him."

Morgan has slowly been returning to the entertainment scene. He hosted Saturday Night Live back in October and is currently on a comedy tour. He's also making the film Fist Fight with Ice Cube.
