As perviously reported, the search for Strickland had been extensive including in areas of Kaw Lake, which extends into Kansas. Strickland and his friend Chase Morland went hunting during a massive winter storm on Dec. 27. Morland's body was recovered from Kaw Lake earlier during the search.

Severe weather conditions, including additional storms and flooding have hindered the search and rescue mission.

Strickland was 29 and is survived by his wife Helen Strickland.
