We all got to witness the ‘trial of the century.’ The McPoyle clan is suing Bill Ponderosa, who is being represented by Uncle Jack and Charlie. Dennis is hoping that he can somehow convince the judge to remove his alimony payments for Maureen Ponderosa. We are in for quite the courtroom showdown.
The Gang is confronted by the infamous ‘Lawyer’ that has had issues with them for many years. He is representing Liam McPoyle and his family and we discover this entire case is over $200. ‘The Lawyer’ crushes Ponderosa and is able to convince Dee to claim that Bill is guilty. Uncle Jack is the defense and aided by some stupid large hands, proves ineffective to the cause.
Dee wants the chance to redeem herself while Mac is waiting for ‘the bombshell’ to be dropped. Maureen Ponderosa is the next witness and as she is slowly transforming from woman to cat, Dennis tries again to get his alimony payments dropped. This is denied which leads to Frank as the witness which takes the prosecution nowhere.
The next witness is supposedly Liam McPoyle’s brother, who after a turn of events we find out could be false information and the case is turned around where ‘The Lawyer’ is trying to find the guilty party while Mac claims he has “the bombshell.”
He claims that Liam’s bother didn’t drink the spiked milk that caused the chaos and that the mute sister Margaret McPoyle can support Mac’s claim. She fails as a witness and Dee’s claims against ‘The Lawyer’ also prove useless. This episode is getting more ridiculous by the minute.
The court has a small recess and Charlie does his best attempt at a defense attorney. His inept argument tries to claim that his theory of ‘bird law’ shoes that the McPoyle family bird, ‘Royal’ is the guilty party. They ask Pappy McPoyle, the father of the family, who also provides no help and this leads to the bird attacking ‘The Lawyer’ and chaos breaking out in the courtroom.
We witness drugs, a frantic Dennis and claims of Charlie’s bird law leading to this case being thrown out by the judge, The best part of the episode is when the next case is brought to the judge and when he finds out it is against Paddy’s pub and The Gang, his response is “Oh hell no!”
