Amy Adams has been lured to television and will star in Entertainment One’s series adaptation of Sharp Objects, the first novel by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn.

The package features Adams as the star, low-budget horror producer Jason Blum as executive producer and Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee as director. According to Deadline, UnReal co-creator Marti Nixon is serving as showrunner.

Sharp Objects was first going to be a feature at Alliance Films, which optioned the book for Blum’s Blumhouse. When eOne bought Alliance, the project was turned into a TV series.

Adams will star as Camille Preaker, a reporter who leaves a psych hospital. She is then sent to her hometown to cover the deaths of two young girls and is forced to reconnect with her estranged family.

Adams is a five-time Oscar nominee and will next be seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next month. She has a long list of projects in the works, including Story Of Your Life and Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals. She won a Golden Globe last year for Big Eyes.

As for Flynn, her projects have attracted Hollywood since David Fincher adapted Gone Girl in 2014. She’s been working on a variety of projects herself, including Steve McQueen’s Windows and Fincher’s Strangers on a Train remake.
