Rep. Duncan Hunter, a Republican from California, didn’t exactly help his fight against a ban of vaping on planes when he vaped during a Congressional hearing.

Hunter, who has been a vocal supporter of e-cigarettes and admitted that he uses them, opened his argument against the ban by vaping. Apparently, he thought that not enough people in the room know what vaping is.

“So this is called a vaporizer,” he said, notes KTLA, as he inhaled. “There's no combustion, there are no carcinogens ... there is no burning, there is nothing noxious about this whatsoever.”

Meanwhile, as he was saying this, his colleague on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee was annoyed and waved her hand to get the vapor out of her face.

Hunter’s stunt didn’t work and his argument was vaporized. As USA Today reports, the amendment passed 33-26. It was proposed by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton of Washington, D.C.
