The 88th Academy Awards are now just two weeks away. If you plan on preparing for it by catching up on some movies you haven’t seen, it’s best to start now. Some of them are very easy to see, while others...not so much. If you live outside of Los Angeles or New York City, or missed film festivals, there’s a chance you didn’t see any of the Best Foreign Language Oscar nominees.

Let’s start with the eight Best Picture nominees. Many of these are still in theaters, like The Revenant, The Big Short and even Spotlight. The Revenant hits Blu-ray on April 19 and Spotlight comes out on Feb. 23. The Big Short’s home video release hasn’t been scheduled.

Disney made Bridge of Spies available on Feb. 2. Room is scheduled for March 1, and Brooklyn doesn’t have a release date. Mad Max: Fury Road has been available since September to own, and The Martian was released back in January.

One of the biggest issues for anyone making Oscar predictions are the short film categories. Many of them are very difficult to see, and you might only get to see them if a local theater is playing the annual Oscar shorts programs. But a few of them are available on Netflix and even YouTube!

Day One (Live Action)

We Can’t Live Without Cosmos (Animated)

Two Netflix documentary features are up for Best Documentary Feature, and both of them are still available. They are Winter On Fire: Ukraine’s Fight For Freedom and What Happened, Miss Simone? Cartel Land isn’t a Netflix release, but it is available on the streaming service.

You can also catch the shorts Last Day of Freedom and World of Tomorrow on Netflix.

Other nominees now available on home video are Trubmo, Straight Outta Compton, Inside Out, Amy (which should soon be up on Amazon, as it’s an A24 release), Sicario and Ex Machina (which is now up on Amazon to stream, as well).

The Oscars are on Feb. 28, and you can read all our reviews of nominated films right here.
