Will Melisandre bring Jon Snow back to life on Game of Thrones? Carice Van Houten isn't about to spill the beans, but she did open up a bit about the character's vital role in this season's events.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Van Houten said that season six is her favorite so far in terms of her character. She also said that the Red Woman plays a pivotal role and undergoes a bit of a transformation. Eventually, she was flat out asked whether her character brings Jon Snow back to life.

"I will completely deny that," Van Houten responded. “It’s funny that there’s so much pressure on my character to bring him back because I don’t think I’ve ever brought anyone back from the dead."

Obviously, if Melisandre really does revive Jon Snow, Van Houten wouldn't just give that away in an interview. But the comment that she undergoes a transformation during the season is definitely intriguing. After returning to Castle Black, dejected and having realized Stannis was not the man she thought he was, could resurrecting a new leader be the beginning of a dramatic turn for Melisandre?

This isn't the first time Van Houten has made similar comments, noting last summer that something may transpire between her and the deceased northerner, as we previously reported.

“You’ve seen her clock Jon Snow, which is a great ending because you think, ‘Uh oh, what’s going to happen there,'” she said. “You feel that she is concentrating more and more towards Jon Snow … there are slight hints that something’s going to happen.”

Game of Thrones returns for its sixth season on April 24.
