Singer and actress Emily Kinney, who starred on The Walking Dead, has joined Hayley Atwell in a new ABC pilot called Conviction.
Atwell joined the pilot earlier this week, so it is assumed that Marvel’s Agent Carter probably won’t be renewed. As Deadline reports, Shawn Ashmore (The Following, X-Men: Days of Future Past) will also star in the legal pilot.
Conviction comes from The Mark Gordon Company and was written by Liz Friedman (Marvel’s Jessica Jones). It centers on a daughter (Atwell) of the U.S. president being forced to take a job at the Conviction Integrity Unit in Los Angeles. There, she and her team of investigators look into recent convictions to make sure the wrong person isn’t thrown in jail.
Kinney will star as the paralegal in the group and hopes to make a big impact on the new CIU.
Kinney starred as Beth Greene on The Walking Dead before her character was killed. She also starred on The Knick for Cinemax and Showtime’s The Big C and Masters of Sex. She’s also a singer and has recorded a few albums.
