Fox News announced today that it has found a full-time replacement for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the popular Fox & Friends morning show. Ainsley Earhardt will co-anchor the show with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.
Earhardt is being moved from Fox & Friends First, the morning show that precedes Fox & Friends. The show will feature a rotating co-host until a permanent replacement is found to join Heather Childers.
“I am grateful for this opportunity and am thrilled to join Steve and Brian on the curvy couch to deliver Americans their morning news,” Earhardt said in a statement.
“Ainsley’s relentless work ethic, congeniality and enthusiasm for connecting with our viewers and staff are extremely refreshing,” Fox News Chairman/CEO Roger Ailes added. “She’s a superb team player and an excellent on-air host – we look forward to her joining the show during such a pivotal news year.”
Hasselbeck announced on Nov. 23 that she was leaving Fox & Friends. The former View co-anchor decided to leave to raise her children.
Earhardt joined Fox News in 2007 after working at KENS-TV in San Antonio and WLTX-TV in Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated from the University of South Carolina.
