Gillian Jacobs has appeared in many network television shows throughout her career, but her new Netflix series isn’t like network television as some of the content is so explicit that she had to warn her mother about it.
The Associated Press noted that Jacobs’ mother was so excited about her daughter starring in the new series titled Love, that she was telling everyone she knew to watch it. So Jacobs had to figure out how to break it to her mother that she didn’t want certain people to see the show because some of the adult-only scenes in it.
“My mom is telling me she's telling all of her friends and family and co-workers to watch the show," Jacobs explained in a recent interview. "I keep being like, 'But, you know, you know that there's some, you know, some adult content in here.' She's like, 'They know, they know.' I'm like, 'OK, but there's some scenes in there I don't know if I want your co-workers to see."
Jacobs plays Mickey, a character who is a drug, alcohol, love and sex addict having trouble breaking things off with her sort of boyfriend. Given the subject matter, it’s understandable why she warned her mom to be more careful about who she tells to watch it.
As we reported, Netflix released the first teaser for the Judd Apatow comedy series last month, and it will be available to stream on Feb. 19.
