Zombieland 2 is in the works at Sony, and the film's star is very much in support of a followup.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eisenberg expressed interest in the sequel and said it would be wonderful to do.
"I would hope that it happens, and I’m sure everybody would be happy to do it if it happens and it’s good," the actor said. "It’s also a strangely beloved movie, so it’s a thing you have to get right. Some sequels you don’t have to get exactly right, but this is the kind of movie you have to get right because people like it for personal reasons, even though it’s a zombie comedy."
Eisenberg also noted that it's a movie where a second installment is very appropriate and he'd be curious to see more of the ensemble of characters. The original starred Eisenberg along with Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin.
Earlier this week, Zombieland writer Rhett Reese said that the sequel is in active development at Sony and the studio has had a few writers take a crack at the project, but it will open happen when they get it perfect, as we previously reported.
"I think all the actors and [Zombieland director] Reuben [Fleischer] all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right," he said.
