Khloe Kardashian has been an open book when it comes to her relationship with Lamar Odom and his recovery from his October overdose. The Kocktails with Khloe host is now revealing she was against him going to Kanye West’s Madison Square Garden show earlier this month, which was his first public appearance since his near-death experience.

Kardashian sat down with Ross Mathews and Garcelle Beauvais for Hollywood Today on Feb. 23, where she talked about her hesitation about Odom attending West’s show.

"I had a ton of anxiety," she admitted. "I'm so protective. Your first time out at Madison Square Garden? Like, I just felt like, 'Is it too much stimulus for his brain? Who knows?'”

The reason it was so important for Odom to go to the show, she explained, was because her brother-in-law was “really instrumental" in Odom’s recovery. He even walked out on to the stage with Odom at his MSG event to premiere The Life of Pablo and his Yeezy Season 3 line.

West used to visit Odom in the hospital and play his new album for him, back when the NBA star still couldn’t speak.

"Lamar would say he could understand everything, he just couldn't get the words out,” she said. “When he was able to finally speak, he would always say, 'Man, Kanye really helped me. I love that he would come.’”
