Can Miss Piggy recognize true friendship on this week’s episode of The Muppets?

Fozzie and Bobo practice a game for tonight’s episode of Piggy’s talk show. Piggy is desperate to help. She’s upset that now the other Muppets have a bigger part in the show, she has less to do. Bobo tells her to take some personal time until her monologue practice.

Piggy decides to spend the time with a friend, only to realize that she has no real friends. Dudley distracts her with snacks so she doesn’t look too deeply into her loneliness. She asks him to meet her in her dressing room to help find her a friend.

Kermit leaves a message for Denise to see if she’s done thinking about their relationship. The network’s program fixer, Pizza (pronounced Pache), tells Kermit he wants to do a sketch that is strictly a commercial. Kermit says his writers would never give up their integrity like that. Pizza says he’ll ask them, but Kermit forbids it.

Dudley asks Piggy to come see his local theater company’s version of Clueless, but she turns him down. Piggy asks Janice how she makes friends. Janice mentions her aerial contortion class. She and Piggy head there. Dudley follows.

The writers feel unappreciated by Kermit. Pizza comes in and offers to take them out to lunch. Before lunch, he buys them new suits. They run into RuPaul. Pizza says he’ll take care of the writers if they take care of the show. Kermit texts, but they don’t answer.

At the contortion class, Piggy approaches a girl named Gwen. She tries to focus on what they have in common, but ends up putting Gwen down.

Kermit asks the other Muppets if they’ve seen the writers. Big Mean Carl and Yolanda offer up their own sketch ideas before Scooter tells Kermit the writers are out with Pizza.

Back in class, Piggy is being obnoxious to Gwen in an attempt to become her friend. The instructor calls for everyone to partner up, but Piggy can’t find a partner. Dudley pretends to get a phone call saying she’s indispensable at the show. They leave.

Gonzo, Rizzo, and Pepe walk into work in their new suits. They tell Kermit about a new sketch which is the commercial Pizza wanted. Kermit tells them they’ve been brainwashed. They tell Kermit if he had shown them more appreciation, it wouldn’t have happened. Kermit says they have to return the suits because the show has a rule against bribery. Suddenly, Yolanda comes onto Rizzo. He realizes it’s the suit. They don’t want to give them back.

Kermit feels bad. He tweaks Yolanda’s fashion sketch, bringing in RuPaul to judge garbage bag outfits created by staff members. Sweetums comes out in a suit made of black garbage bags. The writers then come out in the new suits Pizza bought them. Bobo, as their designer, says the suits came in the garbage bags. He wins.

Pizza is upset that there was no mention of the product and says the guys have to pay for their suits. Kermit says since they were used in a sketch, they’re covered by the wardrobe budget and hands Pizza a check.

During commercial break, Piggy is upset to be the only Muppet without a friend to talk to. Dudley comes up and tries to make her see that he’s her friend, but she doesn’t understand.

After the commercial, Piggy sings with Ingrid Michaelson. Dudley directs her. As she sings about someone accepting her, she realizes that Dudley is her friend. After the show, she takes the rest of the Muppets to see Dudley’s failing play. Kermit tells Piggy that she’s a good friend.
