NCIS fans will be excited to hear that CBS has renewed the popular crime procedural for two more years.
It was just announced today in a statement that the show, which is now in it’s thirteenth season, will be on the air for another two years and series star Mark Harmon, who is also an executive producer, signed a deal for two more years with the show as well.
CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller said, “It is a testimony to an amazing cast, led on and off the screen by the exceptional Mark Harmon, for skillfully bringing this universally appealing team of heroes to life.” He also gave credit to the writing team, including Gary Glasberg.
NCIS has had a successful run, ranking in the top 10 for viewers in the 25-54 age range. Plus, for seven straight years, it has been the number one drama for the CBS network.
The news about the series coming back for two more years also comes on the heels of the show getting ready to bid farewell to longtime star Michael Weatherly, who plays Anthony DiNozzo and will exit the series at the end of this season.
