On this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, Emily receives a shocking update about the status of her egg donation, Caleb discovers information that could potentially ruin Mrs. Hastings’ campaign, and Ezra returns to Rosewood.
Jordan and Hanna hide out in a swanky hotel suite for the night. After seeing how upset Hanna was at being fired, Jordan decided to do something romantic to help cheer her up. Hanna appreciates her fiance’s gesture.
Back at the Radley, Team Sparia continues sleuthing. From the hole in Sara’s closet, they find a tunnel that leads out behind the hotel. The girls conclude that this is how Sara managed to sneak around without being seen. They also wonder why Sara is going to such elaborate lengths to mess with them.
Cue opening theme.
Spencer updates Caleb on what she and Aria found and Caleb tells her about the opposition research files on Yvonne’s phone. The Phillips’ camp has photos of Mrs. Hastings’ medical records, which indicate she’s sick. Spencer thinks this is old news—Veronica had cancer right after Ali went missing—until Caleb points out that the files date back to eight months ago. Caleb guesses the opposition will leak the information to prove Mrs. Hastings isn’t fit to hold office. Upset, Spencer says her mother kept her health a secret from her.
Lieutenant Tanner visits Ali and provides her with intel about the weapon used to kill Charlotte. In addition, she mentions someone from The Two Crows Restaurant used a landline to phone the DiLaurentis house the night of the murder. Dr. Rollins is also present to hear Tanner’s news.
Spencer and Aria tell Emily about Sara’s tunnel and contemplate passing word along to Mrs. Marin. Simultaneously, Emily prepares to check on the status of her eggs at the clinic and Liam arrives in Rosewood to discuss Ezra’s book with Aria.
Spencer heads out to Hastings’ Campaign HQ to ask her mom about her medical records, but Veronica is busy handling a plethora of media events, so she doesn’t get the chance.
Emily arrives at the clinic only to learn that a malfunction with the freezer unit has destroyed a large volume of egg donations, including her own.
Hanna wakes up to a slew of text messages from her friends. In addition, Jordan is gone. When he returns to their room, Hanna freaks out that he left without telling her, informing him that they must return to Rosewood. To complicate matters, the PLLs’ new stalker taunts Hanna with a room service order that threatens Jordan.
Spencer and Emily inform Ali about the texts, claiming their stalker wants revenge for Charlotte’s death. Ali shares what Tanner told her about the murder weapon and the call from The Two Crows restaurant.
Aria and Liam catch up over coffee and Liam asks Aria if she has more pages from Ezra to proofread.
Hanna talks to Emily about her donation fiasco and advises she stay with her, so she doesn’t have to lie to her mom. The girls think that whoever is responsible for harassing them is doing so, because the PLLs led them to believe they wanted Charlotte dead.
Spencer finds Mona and asks her if she had Yvonne leave her phone behind on purpose. Mona admits that she did, but never told Yvonne that Spencer took it. Spencer believes Mona set her up to find something, so it wouldn’t look like she was passing information along to the opposing side. Mona plays dumb, though alerts Spencer that the Phillips’ team is, indeed, planning on leaking her mother’s medical records. Upon hearing this, Spencer isn’t too happy.
Hanna and Jordan fight. Jordan’s worried, since Hanna’s been so on edge lately. Hanna reminds him she’s dealing with a lot: Charlotte’s murder and investigation, losing her job, and now Emily’s mess with her eggs.
Aria and Liam proofread Ezra’s work at her house together. Liam admits he knows she’s helped write parts of his book.
Spencer and Caleb discuss Spencer’s meeting with Mona and whether or not Spencer confronted her mother about the medical records. When Spencer asks if Caleb can erase the files to prevent the leak from happening, he says he can’t, because the opposition will be alerted as soon as he does anything. Caleb says Mrs. Hastings has to tell the public before her opponent does, much to Spencer’s dismay. Soon enough, a text from Hanna re-directs his efforts.
Aria confesses to Liam that she was only trying to help Ezra keep Jillian interested in his work. Liam tells her to finish out the chapter she’s currently working on and then they’ll figure things out later.
Hanna commiserates with ex, Caleb over drinks. Flashbacks indicate problems in their relationship before their breakup.
At The Brew, Lieutenant Tanner approaches Emily. Tanner claims she’s going to keep the PLLs in town until Charlotte’s murder is solved.
Ali visits Spencer.
Caleb threatens Mona.
Ali confesses that she and Dr. Rollins—also known as Elliott—have been seeing each other in secret and wonders how to go about making their relationship public.
Spencer attempts to bring up the opposition’s impending leak with her mother a second time, but hesitates when Veronica says how happy she is to finally be running for election.
Ali meets up with Elliott and lets him know that she told Spencer about their relationship. She wants to know if he’s willing to finally make things public. Initially hesitant, Elliott soon reconsiders, sealing the deal with a kiss. Meanwhile, someone watches Ali and Elliott’s exchange from a distance.
Aria and Hanna go sleuthing at the Radley and find Emily. She went to the hotel by herself to see if she could find any evidence indicating Sara tampered with her eggs, but her search turned up short. Hanna and Aria remind her that she already got the money she needed from making the donation and that she can always give more eggs to the clinic in the future.
Spencer drinks alone in the Hastings’ barn. Enter Caleb, who tries to appear optimistic about the opposition’s tactics; he thinks maybe they won’t leak Veronica’s medical records to the press.
Aria continues working on Ezra’s book at The Brew when he finally returns from his trip. They go up to the loft and he confesses her parents asked him not to tell her about where he was the night Charlotte died. He saw them out together and they wanted to keep their relationship a secret until the right time. What’s more, Ezra has three new chapters of his book for Aria to read over, complicating matters even further.
Spencer and Caleb clean up inside the barn when Spencer remembers that her mother’s campaign manager, Gill needs Melissa’s flight number for reimbursement. When Spencer goes over to check her sister’s suitcase, she notices it’s broken and the piece that’s missing matches the description of the weapon used to murder Charlotte.
The PLLs’ new stalker cleans off old switches resembling the ones the girls were forced to use to torture each other in the dollhouse.
End of episode.
