While there had been a fan-made LEGO version of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser, LEGO also made an official trailer for the LEGO video game. The trailer was released today.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens won’t just be a straight adaptation of the film into video game form. According to the official Star Wars site, the game features story content that explores the era between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The game also uses new gameplay mechanics to build ships.

“We’re extremely proud of the LEGO Star Wars video games, truly an incredible franchise that has sold more than 33 million copies and helped ignite a passion for numerous fun-filled LEGO games enjoyed by countless fans around the world,” Tom Stone, managing director, TT Games, said. “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be bigger and better in every way, pushing the series forward with innovative new gameplay mechanics, while also exploring new parts of the universe that is sure to excite and delight both Star Wars fans and newcomers.”

The game will be available on June 28 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3Ds and Windows PC.

The teaser below is a reference to one of the trailers for The Force Awakens, with some nice gags thrown in. Listen for the “Cantina Band” cameo.
