For anyone who has ever wondered what a mashup of Empire and The Martian would look like, Empire star Taraji P. Henson has just given us a taste.
The 45-year-old actress, who recently won a Golden Globe for portraying the role of Cookie on FOX's hit series, gave her character some intergalactic flair on the Feb. 25 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
During "The Acting Game," a segment in which Fallon and his guests are given absurd telephone conversation scenarios to act out, Taraji was prompted to act like Cookie if she were an astronaut in outer space after receiving a call from NASA telling her that she would not return home for another six months. The result of the prompt? After a full-fledged vocal warm-up, it's safe to say that Henson's performance was out of this world.
Henson also shared a fun photo from the episode to her Instagram account.
As we previously reported, Henson was recently seen in Miami with former Chicago Bears cornerback Kelvin Hayden. Her series Empire, which films in Chicago, returns in March for its third season.
