Vice President Joe Biden will make an appearance at the Academy Awards this Sunday.

According to People, Biden will introduce Lady Gaga's performance of "'Till It Happens to You," nominated for best original song. Gaga's song about violence against women and sexual assault was written for the 2015 documentary The Hunting Ground.

An advisor to Biden told People that the Vice President will appear to show his support for the song's important message.

"As a longtime advocate against sexual assault and domestic violence and the author of the Violence Against Women Act, the VP will use the opportunity to call on everyone in the audience and watching at home to visit www.ItsOnUs.org to take the pledge to stand up, speak out and help change the culture around sexual assault," the advisor said.

The Vice President has previously called on Americans everywhere to take the pledge, which includes speaking out against sexual assault and supporting survivors.

"You know that survivors are not statistics," Biden wrote in an op-ed on WhiteHouse.gov last year. "They’re our sisters; they’re our classmates; they’re our friends. They’re at every university, every college, in every community—large and small. For all of them, everywhere, we can and we must end sexual and dating violence on campus."

The 88th Annual Academy Awards will air Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC. Gaga's competition includes Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall" and David Lang's "Simple Song #3."
