Is ABC developing ‘Pole Dancing with the Stars’?

ABC has yet to plan a spin-off for Dancing with the Stars, but a logical one might be a show featuring pole dancing. Is the network really planning on it?

A Huffington Post story seemed legit, noting that it would be a way for ABC to mix the success of DWTS and Magic Mike. The story even had a quote from an ABC spokesman.

“The show has something for everyone. Both male and female viewers will get the thrust of what we’re going for,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.

TV Overmind also picked up on the story.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you will have to wait a bit longer to see your favorite D-list celebrities learning how to pole dance. The Huffington Post story was posted in their comedy section and written by professional comedy writer Paul Lander.

Still, considering how DWTS could use a ratings bump and ABC needs another hit, why not try Pole Dancing with the Stars? You never know what will work until you try.
