Amy Schumer left the bartenders working at the Richard Rodgers Theatre during a performance of Hamilton an incredible surprise. The Trainwreck star gave them a $1,000 tip.

“I was shocked, completely shocked,” bartender Sara Laursen told CBS2. The aspiring actress had to double check, but Schumer really left that big a tip.

“Slipping me the credit card slip, saying Amy would like you to get this tip and I look down and it’s $1,000. And my heart dropped and I was so speechless,” Laursen said.

The tips are pooled and split among all of the bartenders. The theater bar manager, Mike Anthony, attributed the sense of giving to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical itself.

“The spirit of the show is everything you’ve heard and more,” he told CBS2. “When you come and see this in person, there’s an energy that permeates everything and everyone and inspires this generosity.”

Madeleine DeJohn, another bartender, told The Daily News that Schumer has left other big tips during previous trips to see Hamilton. She once left an $80 tip for only a $40 bill.

“Lots of love to my fellow bartenders and artists. I'm grateful to them and the cast and crew for another great night,” Schumer wrote on Twitter.
