Winter is coming. And so is Amy.
Comedian Amy Schumer channeled her inner Mother of Dragons in a new promo for Inside Amy Schumer.
“This year, TV’s most anticipated show is back,” the promo begins in Game of Thrones' signature font.
Schumer, who is on a horse and dressed like a Game of Thrones character, jokes that fan-favorite character Jon Snow could not have been killed off the popular drama because he was too busy to make a cameo on Inside Amy Schumer.
The commercial ends with a play on Game of Thrones' slogan “Winter is coming” when it declares, “Schwinter is coming.”
Another promo for Inside Amy Schumer that joked Schumer was “overexposed” dropped in March. Inside Amy Schumer has been nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards and won a Peabody Award. After the success of the series, Schumer went on to write and star in the feature film Trainwreck, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
It makes sense that Schumer decided to spoof Game of Thrones because the comedy and drama premiere for new seasons within days of each other. Inside Amy Schumer returns to Comedy Central April 21 at 10 p.m. and Game of Thrones season 6 premieres April 24 at 9 p.m.
