A longtime caregiver for comedic actress Betty White filed a lawsuit on March 24 claiming that she was not paid for overtime shifts or given breaks.
Buzzfeed has obtained documents filed by Anita Maynard in Los Angeles alleging that she was not compensated for overtime work even though she worked more than 14-hour days. Maynard also claims that she never received her vacation pay either.
In addition to unpaid wages, Maynard, who worked for the former Hot in Cleveland star from Feb. 23, 1994 until March 11, 2016, is also seeking court and legal fees.
A rep for White released a statement to People in which she defended the 94-year-old’s reputation but did not address the lawsuit.
"Betty has worked with thousands of people over the years and no one has ever had anything but positive things to say about her,” the statement said. “She's someone who is kind to everyone she meets and remains focused on making others happy."
