Before Angela “Big Ang” Raiola’s untimely death at the age of 55, she said in an interview on The Dr. Oz Show that she was estranged from her husband Neil Murphy. Murphy is now denying they were apart in her final days in a new interview with Raiola’s daughter Raquel.
Raiola told Dr. Oz she left Murphy because he never “stepped up” during her cancer battle, but Murphy told ET he “never left her side” even at the end.
"I was there at the end," he said. "I went to every procedure -- even though she didn't want me, I went. I was there at the hospital for the last two days with her. I mean, to me, we weren't 'estranged.'"
Murphy went on to say that Raiola was “going through a rough time and she, I guess, took it out on me.”
Indeed, Raiola’s Mob Wives co-star Carla Facciolo has said Murphy was “there the whole time” during his wife’s final days.
He even recalled their final moment together the day before she passed away, recalling, "I was lying in bed with her the day before, but she was kind of out of it. I was trying to calm her down, so I was just rubbing her back for like an hour trying to put her to sleep. That was the last time we spent together."
