It didn’t take long for the Denver Broncos to find a quarterback. The team acquired Mark Sanchez in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

The trade was first reported by Mike Klis of 9News in Denver. The Broncos did not have a quarterback after Peyton Manning retired and Brock Osweiler decided to sign with the Houston Texans this week.

Per the deal the Eagles will get a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2017 draft from the Broncos, according to ESPN. Sanchez has a $4.5 million salary for this year, with $1 million guaranteed.

The Broncoshad interest in San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and had discussions with the 49ers about trading for him. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin III were other options that they were looking into.

Sanchez was drafted by the New York Jets in 2009. In 2014, he was released by the Jets and signed a one-year contract with the Eagles. Last year, he returned to the Eagles on a two-year contract. He completed 64.8 percent of his passes for 616 yards and four touchdowns and had four interceptions, according to Fox Sports. Sanchez has completed 56.7 percent of his passes for 15,126 yards with 74 touchdowns, 84 interceptions and 30 fumbles in his career. He led the Jets to two AFC Championship game appearances in 2009 and 2010.

The Eagles have Sam Bradford as their starting quarterback and Chase Daniel as their backup quarterback. They are expected to add a third quarterback through this year's draft.
