Nearly two years after jumping from E! Network to Netflix, comedian Chelsea Handler is finally ready to start her new talk show.
In an old-fashioned, hand-written note to herself posted by Netflix on Facebook, Handler revealed that new episodes of the show will be available to stream on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Each show will run 30 minutes and the first one will be available on May 11.
“You’ll be streaming in 186 countries, so remember to keep a deeper, more culturally sensitive perspective. Especially towards the Germans, they’re still touch about everything they did,” Handler wrote to herself.
At the bottom of the note, she wrote, “It’s an election year. Good timing, girl,”
After Handler left E! And ended Chelsea Lately, she became a hot property. In June 2014, she signed a big deal with Netflix to become the streaming service’s first talk show host. Handler also produced a docuseries that debuted in January.
In June 2015, Handler joked that she had no idea how streaming works. She kept that joke going today, writing “Sign up for Netflix” in her letter to herself. Hopefully she will be signed up by May. She would probably enjoy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
