Stand-up comedian Quincy Jones had big dreams of pursuing a career in comedy in Los Angeles. Even though he was diagnosed with cancer, he still hopes to achieve that dream and Ellen DeGeneres is helping him.

Jones first appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week to share his story. During that episode, DeGeneres donated $10,000 from Shutterfly to a Kickstarter campaign for the 32-year-old, who was diagnosed with a rare terminal cancer in July 2015. DeGeneres told Jones that she would ask Netflix or HBO to air a comedy special for him.

Today, Jones was back on the show to hear from DeGeneres herself that he will have a special on HBO. The network announced that Jones will tape a performance at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles on April 4. The show will air later this spring.

DeGeneres donated another $15,000 from Shutterfly to the Kickstarter campaign, notes Entertainment Weekly. The campaign is now past $50,273 from 1,200 backers.
