Erin Storm, a former The Bachelor contestant, was killed in a plane crash on March 21 in Hawthorne, California. She was 41 years old.

Storm was flying a small single-seat aircraft from the Hawthorne Airport. Hawthorne Police confirmed that officers were sent to the scene of the crash at 12 p.m.

A construction crew saw the crash and pulled Storm from the wreckage. She was rushed to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, but she did not survive. There were no injuries on the ground and very little property damage.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Traffic Safety Board are both investigating.

“All of a sudden, my partner started yelling, 'Watch out, there's a plane coming!' and it looked like the plane veered up, lost control and hit a couple feet away from the truck, a couple feet away from us,” witness Byron Mayes told NBC Los Angeles.

While the police did not identify the victim, Us Weekly reports that it was Storm, who competed on ABC’s The Bachelor during season 12 in 2008. She only made it to week three. She lived in Venice, California and was working for an aircraft training facility in Hawthorne called Pacific Blue Air.
