Nancy Reagan, former First Lady and widow of the late President Ronald Reagan, has died at the age of 94.
TMZ reported the news of her death. Reagan made her home in Bel Air and her health had been deteriorating in recent years.
The Reagans married in 1952 and before their marriage, she had been in an actress in many B movies. As First Lady, Nancy was very protective of her husband and famously helped him answer a question by whispering, “We’re doing the best we can.”
She also helped to create the drugs campaign “Just Say No.”
CBS News reported Reagan was also an advocate for many causes, including getting adequate treatment for veterans and getting rid of the restrictions of stem cell research.
She was born on July 6, 1921 as Anne Francis “Nancy” Robbins and obtained her dramatic arts degree at Smith College. She made 11 film appearances, including the 1956 Hellcats of the Navy alongside her future President husband. They met in 1951 and went on to have two children.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Reagan Jr, and Patricia Davis.
