Hot off the news that Fuller House just earned a second season, Jodie Sweetin has been confirmed as the first contestant for ABC’s Dancing with the Stars season 22.
There was a rumor earlier this week that Sweetin, 34, would take part in the new season, following in the footsteps of fellow Full House and Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure. It wasn’t until this morning, though, that she confirmed her participation on Good Morning America.
While on GMA, Sweetin said that Cameron Bure gave her some pointers on how to compete for the Mirror Ball trophy.
“She’s been really great and excited for me and has shared with me that this is going to be one of the most exciting, overwhelming, physically and mentally demanding things that I’ll ever do, but that it’s incredibly worth it,” Sweetin said.
Sweetin’s professional dance partner will be Keo Motsepe, even though she danced with Val Chmerkovskiy in a Fuller House episode.
“It’s so fun,” she said of rehearsals with Motsepe. “We got through some basic moves of several different styles of dance and just had a lot of fun with it.”
The DWTS news came just as Netflix announced a second season of Fuller House, where Sweetin reprises her role as Stephanie Tanner.
DWTS is back on March 21.
