Two original Gilmore Girls characters have reunited - even if it's not for the Netflix reboot: Yanic Truesdale and Melissa McCarthy recently met and caught up.

On March 5, Yanic Truesdale, who played concierge Michel on Gilmore Girls, posted a picture to Instagram of himself and his former co-star Melissa McCarthy, who played Sookie. In the photo, the pair appear to have enjoyed a fine evening out together, but Gilmore Girls fans still holding out for Sookie to return to the series reboot may find themselves disappointed by the caption's caveat.

Truesdale will reprise the role of Michel for the series' revival, and has posted several behind-the-scenes photos from the set confirming his return.

As we previously reported, McCarthy has stated that she was not asked to return for the reboot, but expressed her best wishes for the project, while series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino emphasized how busy McCarthy has been recently in explaining why she would not return. Sherman-Palladino did, however, add that she would gladly write McCarthy into the script for a cameo.

McCarthy will star in the upcoming film The Boss, which premieres in April. She also co-stars in the Ghostbusters remake due out this summer, whose first trailer dropped last week.
