The photo of a grandfather who made 12 hamburgers for his six grandkids, only to see just one of them show up, has made everyone on the Internet who has seen the photo cry.

The photo was posted by Kelsey Harmon, who wrote on Twitter, “dinner with pawpaw tonight… he made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I’m the only one who showed. Love him.” Since it was posted on March 16, the photo has been retweeted over 130,000 times and liked over 213,000 times.

Harmon’s sad grandfather made many reach out to her to offer support and let her know that the photo made them sad. Harmon later posted a long response on Twitter, noting that many have told her how the photo reminded them to visit their grandparents. She added that she cannot accept gifts as a college athlete.

“With that being said, my intentions were never to become ‘famous,’” Harmon wrote. “I’ve done nothing worthy of fame, I truly only posted the picture of pawpaw to show my appreciation. For those saying I’m craving attention, you are far from right. Family is the most important thing in my world & I’d never take advantage of them to gain followers and fame for a few days.”

One of Harmon’s cousins, Brock Harmon, later posted on Twitter that he did later show up to see Pawpaw.

The incident did remind everyone that visiting your grandparents is incredibly important.
