Entertainer Jennifer Lopez got emotional in a new interview when she talked about her two kids.

In the interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that her hit "On the Floor" was inspired by her 8-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

“I had given birth and the kids honestly just gave me a new direction. They just made me realize… what was real and what wasn’t real,” said Lopez, while wiping her tears. “They just changed everything."

Lopez also admitted that the song was an anthem for her to get back on the map.

“‘On the Floor’ honestly was me again going, ‘Oh yeah, get back out there! You’re an animal. You’re a beast. Pull up your panties and get back out there,'" she said.

The Shades of Blue star said that she was going through a time where she was examining her life. She wanted a "great life" for her kids and she knew she had to change some things in her life.

“I started asking more questions of myself of love, of what was right, of what was wrong,” said Lopez. “I knew for their life to be great, I had to be great and I needed to fix some things and that is where the music came from.”

According to People, the 46-year-old American Idol judge also opened up about how devastated she was when divorcing her husband, singer Marc Anthony.

"I think both Marc and I thought at the time we would be together for the next 40 years until we die. I felt like at that time I had lost my way a little bit, of who I was in trying to make the marriage [work]," Lopez said.

However, she believes that their divorce was needed and it gave her a sense of empowerment.

As the Huffington Post noted, Lopez is back with dancer Casper Smart and Anthony has been married to his wife, Shanon De Lima, for two years.

The former couple may have their differences, but the one thing they have in common is the love of their children.

“Marc and I are very good friends, we’re very supportive. I feel it’s my responsibility as a mom when their dad is not there to let them know that their dad loves them very much because that’s the doubt that they have when he’s not around or they haven’t seen him. That’s my job to do that the same way it’s his job when he’s with them to say, ‘Mommy is working and she loves you.’” said Lopez.
