Lena Dunham is the proud owner of a sweet new pair of kicks - designed by a fellow celebrity.

On March 25, Dunham took to Instagram to share a photo of her new fire engine red PUMAs, and the story of how she got them is nearly as star-studded as the shoes themselves, which were designed and endorsed by none other than Rihanna.

It turns out that the shoes were a serendipitous gift from singer and songwriter Ester Dean, who has written song for Rihanna, including "What's Her Name" and "S&M," as well as hits for other artists, such as Katy Perry's "Firework" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass."

As we reported, the Fall 2016 collection - entitled Fenty PUMA by Rihanna - represents Rihanna's first foray into the fashion world, and marked her debut at New York Fashion Week. The stress of her appearances at fashion week were the cause for the cancellation of her Grammys performance, after a Doctor ordered her to go on vocal rest following the shows.

Dunham has had her share of recent cancellation-inducing health problems as well. As we reported, earlier this month she underwent surgery for a ruptured ovarian cyst after declining to promote the final season of Girls due to a "rough patch" of endometriosis.
