Melissa McCarthy has confirmed she won’t be on the Gilmore Girls reboot on Netflix. She also said she wasn’t asked to do it, which she has said before.

Last month, McCarthy said on Twitter that she wasn’t asked to play Sookie St. James again, although creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said the reason McCarthy wouldn’t be on it was because she’s “really f---king busy.”

There seems to be a disconnect there, however, because Sherman-Palladino also said, “But the thing I have said [to her team] is, ‘Look, if Melissa is available and has an afternoon free, I’ll write her a scene.’”

McCarthy has since told E! News by the time she was asked, it was too late.

"I didn't actually get asked to do it,” she said. “But I think they thought I was busy, and then by the time it did come up, then I actually was."

Even though she won’t be in it, she said she will still “watch every single” episode. "I'm actually thrilled that it's happening," she said.
