It was recently announced that actor Neil Patrick Harris will star in a series adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events from Netflix.

Deadline reported the project is a Paramount TV production and Barry Sonnenfeld will direct the series. The 2004 movie starred Jim Carrey as Count Olaf and this will be the character Harris is set to play.

Filming for the series is set for Vancouver this month. This will be the first series since How I Met Your Mother that Harris will be a part of. During the fall television season, he hosted a variety show called Best Time Ever for NBC.

The Netflix series will follow the story of three orphaned children, Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, who are taken into the care of their evil uncle, Count Olaf. Violet and Klaus will be played by Malina Weissman and Louis Hines.

Harris also announced the news in his own way with a link to USA Today, thanking them “for the glowing endorsement” on his Twitter account.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Patrick Warburton will star as Lemony Snicket, the narrator. The book’s author, Daniel Handler, will be an executive producer on the series.
