This week on New Girl, Reagan and Nick were finally about sex because she was leaving for good the next day. However, Reagan walked into her room to a very unexpected surprise; Jess is back!
Yes, Jess is finally back from her time away at court where she almost threw the entire experience away for the love of another jury member, juror 237B. But Jess has no fear and thinks the two will find each other now that the case is over.
Nick, not knowing what to do when he sees Jess and Reagan in the same room, tells Jess that he and Reagan were romantic together, which is cool because they're both "great, top shelf ladies."
Reagan thinks Nick is being weird, but because he is Nick Miller we'll say weirder than usual, so she goes to help Jess find juror 237B. Now that they're gone, Nick devises a plan with Schmidt to hit Reagan with the "goosebumps walkaway" before she leaves tomorrow. The only catch is Schmidt has to approve of the line because he knows Nick will fail at picking a good one.
The two girls find juror 9C, who sat next to juror 237B and try to question him, but they can't get onto the golf course because only men are allowed. Jess calls Nick to help them and Reagan tells Jess not to because she's leaving and is crazy about Nick.
Meanwhile, Cece and Schmidt agree to go to Winston's dance classes, which aren't actually classes. In actuality, they are freestyle dance gatherings. Schmidt is immediately not okay with this and thinks back to his husky boy days where he had no margin for error. He needed to learn and do everything perfectly and it wasn't until he learned a dance perfectly that he would dance the dance.
Their dance gathering is cut short when Nick finds out juror 237B's name is Gary Garcia and they need Winston to run his name through the system, leading them to discover their are 931 Gary Garcias.
Jess advises Reagan to tell Nick how she feels about him so she doesn't have to go on with life not knowing how he feels, much like Jess and Gary Garcia. As she goes to tell Nick how she feels, he hits her with the goosebumps walkaway, "sayonara sammy," walks into the shower awkwardly and she leaves.
Jess finally finds Gary Garcia after she goes on live television anonymously to discuss the case, and he joined the live broadcast as well through a video call. The two met up in person and nothing but awkward silence ensued.
Reagan calls Nick from the airport to tell him "sayonara sammy" and for some odd reason, he then needs to process everything she's said to him.
Schmidt finally lets go of his husky boy pass and does improv dancing to the hustle for Cece, which Winston takes credit for.
