On this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, Caleb deals with the fallout of the Phillips leak, Hanna prepares for her bridal shower, and Ezra asks Aria to help co-author his book.

Aria fills Hanna and Emily in on Ali and Elliott while cleaning up the day after her parents' wedding. The other girls find Ali and Elliott’s decision to wed both strange and abrupt, but Aria reminds them that Ali has known Elliott for years, since he was Charlotte’s doctor. At the same time, Hanna dreads her impending bridal shower and Emily wonders if the girls can quietly go to Toby with their suspicions about Melissa.

Later, when Aria shows her friends photos from her parents’ wedding, they all notice a hidden message from their stalker: “Give me the killer by election night, or you lose.”

Cue opening theme.

Spencer talks with her father in the Hastings’ kitchen. Mr. Hastings thinks she should issue a formal apology about the Phillips leak because the media has figured out that Caleb is her boyfriend. To make matters worse, Toby has already made a statement to show his support for Yvonne and has accused the Hastings camp of “nasty political tactics.” Mr. Hastings grows angry when Spencer seems more concerned with protecting Caleb and having Melissa return her phone calls. As Spencer secretly scans through the pictures Aria sent from the wedding, Mr. Hastings tells Spencer Melissa is back in London. Spencer wants answers, but Mr. Hastings asks her to worry about her mother and Toby, not her sister.

In a flashback, Spencer and Toby sit in her dorm room in silence.

Ashley shows Hanna posters she made for her bridal shower. Hanna asks her mom if they could re-schedule given the election night event being held at the Radley as well as the fact that Ali’s out of town and will miss it. With the shower only a day away, Ashley is unwilling to budge; she thinks the party will be a good distraction from Charlotte’s murder investigation.

Aria visits Ezra and asks how she should handle telling Jillian she wrote part of his book. Ezra says he already spoke to Aria’s boss and proposed that Aria be his co-author in order to save her job. Aria is flattered, but doesn’t think Jillian will go for it. Ezra disagrees; Jillian seemed open to the idea on the phone.

Hanna and Emily discuss the girls’ Melissa problem. She’s left in a hurry before, so they should’ve anticipated it happening again. Simultaneously, Emily recognizes what sounds like the car that tried to run her over.

At the Radley, Ashley places a rush order for the bar when she spots Caleb talking with the front desk clerk. He’s trying to get a room since he no longer works on Veronica’s campaign. With every hotel—including the Radley—booked, Ashley offers Caleb the Marin’s guest room. He says he’ll figure something out.

Emily runs into Ezra at The Brew when she hears what sounds like the same car again. Ezra’s been hearing it lately, too, and tells her that it’s “whistle tips” someone purposely put on their exhaust pipe.

Spencer tries to get in touch with her sister when Toby shows up, looking angry. He demands to speak to Caleb, but Spencer tells him that Caleb isn’t there. Toby is doubly upset about what Caleb did, because he and Yvonne both considered Toby a good friend. When Caleb suddenly shows, Toby asks for the truth, though Caleb sticks to his story. Spencer tries to diffuse the situation, but cannot prevent Toby from punching Caleb in a moment of rage.

Emily decorates the apartment then mentions going to the auto shop to find proof that Melissa was driving the car that tried to hit her. At the same time, Ashley asks for Hanna’s help turning the air conditioner on with the "smart loft" remote, before mentioning that she offered Caleb the guest room. Hanna says she doesn’t want Caleb staying at her mother’s and freaks out, claiming that Ashley has compared all her boyfriends to Caleb and that she likes Caleb more than Jordan. Not wanting to get in the middle of the mess, Emily slips out to go to the auto shop.

At the park, Spencer tends to Caleb’s injuries and advises that he tell Toby the truth about the leak. Caleb protests, claiming the truth will just make things worse.

Aria and Liam go to lunch at the Radley and Aria tells him that Ezra asked her to co-author his book.

Spencer runs into Mona at The Brew and Mona doesn’t appreciate it when Spencer accuses her of staging the leak. After the leak, the Phillips’ campaign did a thorough investigation and found out that Mona slipped Spencer information about them having Veronica’s medical records. Mona has been fired and her career is shot.

Aria and Ezra work together, comparing notes about the book. Their session is interrupted when Lieutenant Tanner shows up at Aria’s house and asks her to come to the precinct to be part of a lineup. According to an eyewitness from The Two Crows diner, Aria fits the description of the person who called Charlotte the night of her murder. Aria claims she’s done everything she can to help the cops already, but Tanner insists she still stop by.

Aria participates in the lineup and battles her nerves.

Emily goes to the auto shop for proof, but the mechanic she speaks to claims he can’t help her.

Aria leaves the precinct and hides in the bushes when she spots someone who looks like Sara walking out of the building.

Emily snoops around the auto shop and takes a picture of car that resembles the one that tried to hit her. When the mechanic catches her, she shows him a picture of Melissa and asks if she’s the person who brought the car in. He says no, then asks her to leave.

Aria goes back to Rosewood PD and asks Tanner if the eyewitness was Sara. Tanner says she can’t reveal that information. When Aria spots files on Tanner’s desk, she purposely spills a mug of coffee to get a better look. Highlighted on the file are the phrases, “attractive brunette making a phone call,” "on edge, jiggling car keys," and “key chain with pink dice.”

At Hanna’s bridal shower, the girls secretly converse. They still haven’t figured out who’s framing them, so it’s best that they wait things out. Simultaneously, the girls wait for Spencer to arrive.

Mr. Hastings chides Spencer for not doing a better job of cutting off ties with Caleb and Spencer again mentions how convenient it is that Melissa fled back to London. Mr. Hastings then reveals how Melissa received threatening messages before Charlotte’s hearing, blackmailing her about the tape in which she admitted to burying Bethany. Melissa dropped off money to a specified location to shut the stalker up. She didn’t go to the police, because she didn’t want to seem guilty.

The girls discuss the possibility of the same person stalking both them and Melissa and ponder the identity of the brunette.  Moments later, in the midst of Hanna opening shower gifts, Mona shows to drop off a present. Ashley invites her to stay.

Later, the PLLs question why Mona came and Hanna gets uncomfortable during a game of 21 questions when no one can answer how she and Jordan met. Diverting everyone's attention, Hanna reaches for the smart loft remote, but it malfunctions and no one can turn it off. Amid the chaos, Aria gets injured when she stands too close to the fireplace.

When the party ends, Spencer gets a text from Aria saying she’s been admitted to the ER with second-degree burns and finds the incident to be too coincidental, since it happened after Mona arrived. She also gets a second text, this one from Toby: “I don’t have much time, but I can meet now.”

In a flashback, Spencer and Toby wait for fate to decide their circumstances. In the present, Spencer leaves to meet him, crafting an alibi about who she’s really going to see.

Spencer goes to The Brew, where she finds Toby already waiting for her. In a third flashback, the former couple discusses their future plans and how they both seem to want different things while in the middle of dealing with a potential pregnancy scare. In the present, Spencer tells Toby the truth about the leak and the girls' new stalker and Toby is relieved that Caleb’s innocent.

When Toby leaves to head back to work, Spencer gets a new text from the PLLs’ stalker: “You didn’t take me seriously, so I thought I’d light a fire under your a**.”

Aria reads the same text in the hospital just as Ezra shows up to keep her company.

In the waiting room, Hanna apologizes to Ashley for not including Jordan in her life more and attempts to dodge questions about Mona.

Liam visits Aria and informs her that Jillian approved the book. And with Liam's arrival, Ezra makes an awkward exit.

Spencer calls Yvonne and apologizes.

Emily and Mona dump trash and Mona laments how her good intentions always appear to go awry. When she leaves, Emily notices her holding a key chain with a pair of pink dice on it and asks Mona if she called Charlotte the night of her murder. Mona refuses to answer Emily’s questions.

At the auto shop, the mechanic Emily spoke with retrieves an envelope of cash from the car she surveyed and smiles crookedly.

End of episode.
