Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker is in critical condition after being involved in a motorcycle accident, the team announced on Friday.

The accident occurred on March 17 in Liberty City, Florida, just north of Miami. Walker was riding a Honda dirt bike on Northwest 75th Street going west and collided with a Ford Escape at an intersection, according to the Baltimore Sun.

He was wearing dark clothing and the bike had no headlights, which could be the reason for the crash. The driver of the Ford Escape remained on the scene and was cooperating with police. Walker was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami in critical condition while the driver of the Ford Escape wasn’t injured.

"It’s a bad situation," Ronald Butler, Walker’s agent, said. "I’m going to be honest. We’re praying that he’s able to fight through it. He has some head injuries. He’s fighting for his life right now. That’s really the most I can say."

"This is devastating news," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. "Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight."

Walker was drafted by the Ravens last year. He played only eight snaps on defense and had one tackle, according to ESPN. He was expected to compete for the No. 3 or the No. 4 cornerback spot on the Ravens roster this year.

Police are still investigating the accident.
