Comparisons between Rihanna and Beyonce started happening almost just as soon as the Anti singer rose to fame, but she’s addressing those rumors once and for all in a new interview with Vogue.
Rihanna appears on the cover of the April 2016 issue of Vogue, where she makes it clear that she’s not in competition with anyone but herself.
“Here's the deal, [people] just get so excited to feast on something that's negative,” she said. “Something that's competitive. Something that's, you know, a rivalry. And that's just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that."
Rihanna also talked about her “only regret” in life, which has to do with the gown she wore to the CDFA Fashion Awards in 2014. She famously didn’t wear a bra with it, but she’s now kicking herself for wearing a “thong that wasn't bedazzled.”
