Robert Downey Jr.’s son, Indio, received good news from a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday, March 8, who threw out his cocaine case after proving he completed a drug program.
Indio addressed Judge Lauren Weis Birnstein in court, telling her he’s “so blessed” to have his “life back” after completing the program.
"I would like to say I am truly grateful for the experience I had over the last 20 months in recovery,” he also said, TMZ reports.
Indio was arrested for felony narcotic possession in 2014 when he was 20 years old.
His famous father wasn’t in court with him on Tuesday, but has supported him since his arrest. "Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it," Downey Jr. told ET after Indio’s initial arrest.
In December, the Iron Man star was pardoned by California Gov. Jerry Brown for his own 1996 convictions, which he spent a year behind bars paying for.
